After winning the 2015 Ecuadorian national championship in the Jr Max class on their first year with the brand , the staff at COMPKART Ecuador led by Luis Felipe Dávila started working early with his drivers for the 2016 season, aiming to keep the momentum and win more races during the next year.

Pre-season was done at the Florida Winter Tour with the collaboration of J3 Competition, getting Juan Diego Villacis, official COMPKART driver, two solid top ten finishes at Homestead and Palm Beach giving him the motivation to start a long Ecuadorian championship with fourteen rounds during eight months.

The team started the year in a fantastic way entering six official drivers to this championship in three classes: Junior Max, DD2 Senior and Master Max.

As the races went by, the team was getting stronger and stronger as they were fighting for the top step of the podium on each race, making the COMPKART chassis the fastest and most winning chassis in Ecuador for the 2016 season and statistics speak by themselves:

6 pole positions in Junior Max, 12 podium finishes with 7 races won, (JD Villacis)

7 pole positions in DD2 Senior, 13 podium finishes with 8 races won  (JD Villacis – JP Albarracin)

6 pole positions in Master Max, 19 podium finishes with 6 races won (D Villacis – E Ramia – D Tinajero – JE Villagomez)

Three national champions:

–       Juan Diego Villacis – Jr Max

–       Juan Diego Villacis – DD2 Senior

–       Diego Villacis – Master Max

And lap records in 6 out of 7 different tracks during the season!

Now the team is looking forward for the upcoming national and international races for the reminder of the year and the beginning of the 2017 race season.
