J3 RACE DEPARTMENT - READY TO FIGHT FOR VICTORY IN LA CONCA, ITALY

After a dominate win at the US Nationals, J3 Competition driver Andrew Palmer will take part in representing the United States during this week’s Rotax World Finals. A total of 71 junior drivers will converge upon southern Italy at the renowned La Conca circuit. The junior pilots for the 2010 World Finals are mandated to use the ST-30 model chassis produced by French manufacturer – Sodi Kart, which adds a unique dynamic into the mix.

Over the past three months Andrew Palmer has spent ample time preparing for the event. In August, Palmer spent a week testing in La Conca, Italy preparing and understanding the demands of the circuit in full preparation for this week’s event. With a solid handle on the circuit, Palmer and the team at J3 Competition have been back stateside spending ample and consistent time testing the ST-30 chassis. With several hundred of laps on logged in on the ST-30, Palmer is comfortable and the team has a solid baseline heading into this year’s event.

“We’ve really put a 100% focus toward this race with Andrew and to this point we are very pleased with our progressions. As a scholastic standout at Chicago Laboratory High School, Andrew has been forced to sacrifice an enormous amount of his time to prepare properly for this event. We are aware and thankful for the extra efforts Andrew has put forth as a driver and student,” commented the Team Manager.

The bulk of testing leading up to the event in Italy was conducted stateside at Concept Haulers Speedway 50 minutes south of Andrew’s residence in Chicago, IL. Coupled with mechanic David Dodson, Andrew was able to test several different permutations and scenarios in order to prepare for the various occasions the team would encounter in Italy. Once the testing was completed on Saturday November 6 the team had one week to prepare for its long flight schedule off to the destination airport in Brindisi, Italy. In total the event will consume ten days of on-track activity paired with travel and preparation days.

J3 Competition would like to thank everyone’s cooperation on the pre-event testing and event such as the Palmer family, Ben Cruttenden (Supertune USA), and the entire team at J3 Competition. For updated photos and results please be sure to check the J3 Competition website.
