The DD2 Max engine is 34 hp providing a chainless drive concept, which is combined with a 2-speed gearbox operated by means of shift paddles directly from the steering wheel. The DD2 package is ideal for drivers with know-how in kart racing, the engine is the closest to Formula car racing. Launched in 2002, the revolutionary engine gave rise to the development of chassis by all leading manufacturers.

The DD2 engine kit has the lowest in-class  operating costs.  The low cost and high performance hybrid of the DD2 MAX is achieved by the philosophy within Rotax, which is to build products that last with the consumer interest first.  Unique features such as a robust crankcase with integrated water pump and engine mount radiator coupled with a special treated cylinder aids in the engines long-life.
