A successful end to the 2009 CKI Championship will take place this coming weekend in Norman, Oklahoma at the famed Oklahoma Motorsports Complex. With the Championship coming down to the wire in many classes, J3 Competition will be vying for its stake in KF3 category with young pilot Tristan DeGrand.
Alongside DeGrand for the weekend’s racing will be teammates Alessandra Madrigal (KF3 and TaG Jr.), Richard Benitez (KF2), and newcomer Phillip Orcic (KF3). Up to this point the team has reached a selection of equipment that is sure to be competitive in all categories in Norman. Insuring the team and all the equipment have been prepared to the highest levels, J3 driver’s DeGrand and Orcic took part in several days of testing this past week in Oklahoma.
The testing leading up to this event has been very positive and once again confirmed the ability of the driver’s and team’s abilities. In addition to the normal procedures, the Race Department at J3 Competition has invested an improved focus and commitment level of work toward its KF engine program, which should yield a positive impact.
“Our team has worked feverishly over the entire 2009 season and we definitely want to have a positive and successful conclusion to the ‘main’ season before we leave for Las Vegas next month. The victories are always important to everyone on the team, yet we have to keep our sights on the KF3 Championship as well.”
