A new development in the 2011 season for J3 Competition is the introduction of thier new ‘SKID PLATES’. Designed with the same scope as a Formula 1 or Indy Car skid plate, J3’s skid plates are working to help not only protect and perserve the drivers’ chassis, but also allow the driver to attack the circuit.
The skid plates, were first developed during significant testing with the Race Department and then once the special ‘one-off’ pieces were perfected it was time for 3-D CAD CAM modeling. Once the pieces were modeled using high-tech software, the manufacturing process of injection modled took place. Carefully deciding on the material to use was critical for the development of these skid plates and thus, the result ia quality and undeniablely functional product.
“The new skid plates are definitely not only allowing us to perserve our material, but it is giving drivers the confidence to attack the circuit properly and find that extra tenth of a second.” stated the Team Manger at J3 Competition.

J3 Competition driver, Andrew Palmer, commented on his experience with the new skid plates: “It’s always difficult to attack the curbing on certain circuits and maintain the proper trejectory, but since my team has implemented the new skid plates, the chassis does not deflect under impact nor do I feel the negative bottoming out affect – its a big comfort zone for me while driving now.”
