Double win at USPKS in Shawano!
Last weekend can’t be less than memorable for me and all the J3 Competition team! We did a great work and achieved the victory in both events of the United States Pro Kart Series, Saturday and Sunday! We’ve been competitive all weekend, and optimized the COMPKART at best. The competition was really strong, with 41 of the best drivers in North America. I liked the US Air Motorsport track in Shawano from the start, it’s easy to understand why it’s a driver’s favorite: fast, long corners with elevation change and really technical. Great fun to drive!

Saturday I qualified only 9th, unfortunately I found traffic in the last corners of my best lap. I tried to come back in the two heats, held one on dry and one on wet: I finished 2nd on both, this granted me the start on pole for the Main Event. After some battle right after the start, I was able to grab first position and set my pace, and create a consistently growing gap to end up winning after 18 laps with more than 4 seconds on 2nd place.

On Sunday we used the experience acquired the previous days and refined the setup further. This allowed me to set the pole position with the fastest lap of the weekend. During the heats the goal was to keep the lead while being careful on tire wear. I would say we successfully achieved this task, as the tires were in great shape for the Main Event. I started to push right after the start, and after 6 laps I was able to break the slipstream from the following group of drivers. I kept on pushing till I reached a 2 seconds gap which allowed me to drive easily to the finish line. I feel great satisfaction for this result, my thanks go to the J3 Competition crew, which worked amazingly, and showed great professionalism together with the competitiveness of the COMPKARTpackage!
