The opening of the 2017 season has awarded the COMPKART brand many successes thus far and with Q1 nearly in the books, the staff at COMPKART is pleased to unveil the start of its European Team for the remainder of 2017 season. The European team, which will work alongside its domestic efforts will initially enter two of its most promising drivers, Dante Yu and Nicholas d’Orlando who will both compete abroad in the recently formed OK category. International competition for the team is nothing new. In fact, the last time the COMPKART team attended a WSK world event it struck the podium with its longtime protégé, Tristan DeGrand in the KFJ (now OKJ) category, so the re-appearance of the teams brand on such a stage is no surprise.
The duos first European event will be at the final round of the WSK Super Master Series in Sarno, Italy next week, April 7-9. Well-versed with the team’s materials and management structure, d’Orlando and Yu have already spent time testing the new OK engine platform in preparation for the jump to the OK category. Both drivers will compete aboard familiar COMPKART Covert 17-R chassis paired with TM Racing engines with the up and coming Lecont tire brand being the mandatory choice of the CIK-FIA events.
