Covert Model Chassis Refined for 2017

After the very successful launch of the COMPKART chassis line in 2014, the brand has continually made small and refined changes to improve both performance and user-experience. 2017 will see several updates to the chassis line focused on  performance improvements which already are considered arguably the best with aesthetics as well.

Rear Cassette Flanges

The chassis welded rear cassette flanges have been modified completely with a revised contact patch to the chassis main tube rails. This has reduced the heat entered into the chassis main tube allowing for better efficiency in the material.  In addition the three position height is unaltered and the overall dimensions are slightly changed to provide for better handling to the chassis axle carriage.

Driver Panel Bracket

The lower panel bracket is now bolted to the new steering box instead of being part of the physical material.  The bracket now comes with multiple height adjustment which allows the user better ability to fit the angle of the driver panel.  This allows  a one size fits all product  as well as the opportunity to create improved aero efficiency with added angular placements.

Better Front-End Performance

At the onset the steering box looks unaltered, however we have broadened the front weldment face while relieving material associated with the attachment point on the front chassis ‘hoop’. This assists with releasing the front ‘hoop’ allowing for improved function.  The foot rest mount is now slotted with easier adjustment along with being elevated 7 mm by two special washers to create a better contact patch on the driver’s heel. The foot rest is also attached with a solid plate below to eliminate the use of fixing nuts making for better efficiency. You can also notice the new driver panel bracket as mentioned above fixes directly in a two piece fashion which completes the redesigned function.

Steering Upright Mounting

The steering upright mounting plates have been redesigned to follow the brands aesthetics in addition to creating fuel pipe fixing locations already integrated for both one and two lines to make it easier for all applications, a first in the industry.  We have also added dedicated mounting holes for X30 Key holder plate creating a sturdy independent fixture.

A lower plate has been added to help with the functioning of the chassis steering as well as aesthetics. which now allows for a slightly stiffer and more direct feel  for the driver, thus delivering more precise input from the moment of steering angle.

Aesthetics / Alterations

Seat 

The seat offered now is branded ‘COMPKART’ and has been refined with a new back angle and is produced with a similar flex to that of the Tillett ‘VG’. This too will be the standard seat of our Race Department in 2017.  Available with chassis purchases in sizes of (1 -3).

Steering Wheel 

The color has been changed to predominantly black with accent stitching to assist with longer life and a clean appearance.  COMPKART logo has been integrated  as well as bringing a more unique look to the brand.

Colors 

The Pedals are now in ‘Blue’ color which follows the unique graphics kit better.  In addition the tie rod tubes are now in ‘Blue” color as well to follow the more uniformed front-end look.  One other note with respect to the tie rods is that they are now standard in 255 mm.  

Bodywork – 

For 2017 the bodywork will come with FL side pods whereby the driver panel and front nose cone will be OTK M6 with the continued pearl white look.
