Over twenty COMPKART drivers made the journey over Memorial Day weekend to Englishtown, New Jersey to attend the second round of the F-Series. With drivers in several categories, J3 Competition had two first time drivers to the F-Series, Austin Garrison in his second outing with the team who was joined by the team’s new addition, Nicholas d’Orlando in his first outing. In addition to a solid day of testing on Friday with both these drivers the team working closely with regional COMPKART dealers Fulkrum Competition and Kartworkz Competition several COMPKART drivers were on pace and prepared and ready for Saturday’s action.
In TaG Jr. Nicholas d’Orlando struck first by grabbing pole position in a tight field of drivers followed by fellow COMPAKRT pilot Justin White. With a unique format of three heat races which are all awarded points, thus the driver with the most points being awarded the winner the event created a fierce and demanding set of races. d’Orlando had an altercation on track in heat one while working his way through the field, which he managed to secure a fourth place finish in. In the remaining heat races d’Orlando went first and second which secured the victory in d ’Orlando’s return to J3 Competition and what was his first outing on the COMPKART chassis. Amongst d’Orlando on the podium was the young Kartworkz driver Justin White who displayed great speed and competed at the sharp end of the field taking home a solid third place finish to add more Fluo to the podium.
“Nicholas showed up determined on Friday and we were able to work through our outline effectively on practice day. The initial work we carried on Friday proved correct as Nicholas secured the pole position and from there he displayed a great effort to take the overall victory. This is a good sign of what we have moving forward.” – J3 Management
Arguably the highlight of the event was the TaG Sr. category where driver Austin Garrison was joined by an additional ten (10) COMPKART pilots. Garrison secured the pole position with an absolutely fantastic lap, whereby he went perfect in all his heat races to take a commanding victory over a stout field of drivers. Utilizing the IAME X30 package, Garrison was able to become more comfortable with his COMPKART/X30 package as he moves into the remainder of a busy year with this exact combination.
“Austin drove a fantastic event in addition to carrying out our rigorous test and data collection process. He also worked well with the many COMPKART drivers at the F-Series event, just a great all-around team and brand effort.” J3 Competition Management
J3 Competition would like to congratulate all COMPKART drivers who attend the F-Series event in addition to Fulkrum Competition and Kartworkz for their support and hard work.
