With much anticipation, J3 Competition will be taking part in the inaugural Florida Cup presented by CKI/WSK USA this weekend in Homestead, FL. This new and exciting seven category program will reach into the familiar venue at Homestead Karting in order offer top quality racing alongside a top quality prize package.
Leading the way for J3 Competition in the junior division will be the familiar duo of Tristan DeGrand and Alessandra Madrigal. The 2009 defending CKI KF3 Champion, Tristan DeGrand will solely focus on the KF3 category as he heads into Homestead aiming to defend his position. Alessandra Madrigal will take on the challenges of both the KF3 and Rotax Jr. categories. After pulling the double in the 2009 winter months, Madrigal will be poised to give both categories the necessary attention to fight for the respective championships.
Utilizing the potent Kosmic/Vortex package in the KF2 category for J3 Competition will be junior standout and graduate Phillip Orcic. Orcic will rejoin J3 Competition after a successful stint with the team at last year’s CKI Finale for the entire Florida Cup series. Across from Orcic will be long-time J3 Competition driver Richard Benitez who will be trading in his KF2 hat for Rotax Sr. Benitez who is a Caribbean Rotax Champion and World Finals participant in 2006 will be partnered with newcomer Manuel Sanjenis. Sanjenis, a Puerto Rican native has ample experience against some of North America’s top competitors and is definitely looking forward to earning some solid results.
