Wednesday the action heated up in Bahrain with official qualifying alongside the first set of heats for Team USA drivers. The team was up to speed in nearly all categories, unfortunately several team drivers were caught out in the ‘waiting-game’ and were unable to obtain optimal laps in qualifying and in some cases, any laps. The day was highlighted with Micro MAX driver Lucas Palacio qualifying in the top ten and then taking first place in his first heat race. Followed up closely was Nixx Eggleston who continues to impress on his international debut by taking 4th place in his heat race. Other notables were Race Liberante, 5th on track (PBB) relegated him to 15th overall while Gage Korn and Matteo Qunito hustled hard to bring it home in 13th and 12th place positions in their joint heat race.
“We are really pleased with the speed and competitive spirit Team USA is showing, unfortunately some of the qualifying games caught a couple drivers, but we are confident moving forward with our talent and team work.” — John Giacomelli
