Designed to fit OTK type chassis, J3 Competition steering columns are offered with multiple offsets, thus giving the driver the possibility to change the way in which the chassis steering angle is applied.
Full Size Column – 4 Position with a standard length of 470mm – Offsets (38.0 – 43.7 – 49.3 – 55.0) least aggressive to most aggressive*J3C.35.0302/470
Mini Column – 3 Position with a standard length of 390mm – Offsets (38.0 – 43.7 – 49.3) least aggressive to most aggressive*J3C.35.0302/390
Tip –>Changing the ackerman position on the steering columns ‘mounting plate’ is accomplished by slecting one of the many fixing points with the tie rod end. By selecting the fixing point closest to the pivot point or steering shaft itself (in this case offset 38.0mm) you will create a dynamic that requires less input in terms of effort and initial response/reaction is reduced, like wise for the opposite location(s). During the process of changing your ackerman adjustment it must be noticed that you will need to check/change your chassis steering ‘sweep’ or center along with the toe-in.
