Race Rotax Adds Sporting & Technical Directors
April 12, 2021
The 2021 calendar year marks an exciting time for Rotax Racing across the United States as the program continues to see expansion at every level. With the first official Rotax Grand Finals qualifying event less than a month away the program is continuing to elevate its structure with the announcement of the program’s Sporting and Technical Directors.
The Sporting side of the official Rotax program will be under the supervision of longtime respected industry member, Tim Hannen. Tim Hannen and his family are the proprietors of Oakland Valley Race Park alongside being avid supporters of the karting and Rotax communities. Tim’s list of accomplishments on and off track are plentiful and his guidance will ensure the structure of the BRP-Rotax brand are held to a high and fair standard.
Technical compliance at key Rotax events will be managed by Mike Edwards who for the past two years has been head to technical inspection at the US Rotax Grand Nationals. Mike’s involvement across all critical US Rotax events in the United States ensures consistency as well as an educational platform where competitors are able to engage at each event on the technical front.
“Our program is based on consistency across the United States in both the sporting and technical side of racing. With one clear set of regulations competitors are able to confidently compete throughout the entire country with clarity while having Tim Hannen and Mike Edwards usher along this program into the future is really exciting for everyone involved.” – Race Rotax Management
